Yorkshire Crisps begin life as a humble potato grown on the Yorkshire Wolds. And farmer Ashley Turner only uses specific varieties of spuds that crisp up well.
Dug fresh from the ground, they’re then transported in large wooden crates to the potato factory in Wales Bar on the outskirts of Sheffield, in South Yorkshire.
Each potato is graded, washed then thinly sliced – and the skin is kept on making them extra crispy. The slices are hand-fried in sunflower oil, then, while still warm, natural flavours are drizzled over them – giving them bags of flavour.
They’re 100% Yorkshire with no artificial additives, colouring or anything genetically modified – and the whole range is gluten-free.
